ZAP
Zeros Aren't Permitted
Based on the policy of our new program, Zeros Aren't Permitted (ZAP), students who fail to complete assignments will be assigned a day to stay after school to complete the missing work. The ZAP program is designed to allow students to obtain mastery as outlined in the Georgia Performance Standards whether through reworking of assignments or completing assignments that have not been attempted. Any student who scores below 85% will be allowed to rework the assignment; however, the maximum grade for any rework is 85%. Students who score below 70% are required to rework their assignment during the next ZAP time for that content teacher. The day will vary by teacher. Students assigned to ZAP will be required to attend. A bus will be available to take students home if they are not picked up by 4:35. Teachers will send home written notice at least one day in advance that your child has been assigned to the ZAP program.
Contact your child's teacher or Assistant Principal for further clarification.
