Oak Hill Middle School ACE (Advanced Content & Enrichment) Program

Home

On January 29th from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Oak Hill will sponsor ACE Night.  Come see what we are all about.

Oak Hill Middle School’s ACE program is a dynamic and wonderful entity of this school.  Students in this program are taught by Georgia Certified
Highly Qualified Teachers.  Students are taught using differentiated instruction, whole class instruction, and cooperative learning.    Students are immersed in the lessons through field trips, videos, hands on activities, etc..

Students are located in the Historic Piedmont School in Oak Hill.  The students will be in a nurturing, caring, but challenging environment.  We hope you will find our program to be a new and exciting adventure.  ACE program classes are offered in all academic areas.  There are 3 teams of 4 teachers each—one team per grade level.  Students will attend up to four classes based on availability of space and eligibility.

Oak Hill Middle School Band Program

A large percentage of our gifted population are band members.  These students strive for excellence while achieving common goals with other band members.  Our band is very well supported by ACE parents, ACE teachers and our administration.

In each of the last 4 years, the Oak Hill Middle School Band program has been rated superior by the Georgia Music Educators Association at all state concert festivals for which the band has performed.  In each of those years, Oak Hill band students have made up 25% to 30% of the District Eleven Honor Band.  No other band in the surrounding counties can boast those percentages.  In 2007, just over 20% of the Honor Band came from Mr. Bragg’s 1st block 8th grade ACE band class.

Since 2003, Oak Hill bands have placed either 2nd or 1st in the annual statewide Music in the Parks Concert Band Competition held each May at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Mr. Bragg and Ms. Woods have over 250 band students, including about 150 ACE students.  We love them all, and we enjoy watching them shine when they take the field with the Baldwin Marching Pride when the reach Baldwin High School.

Oak Hill Middle School uses the Advanced Content Class Model of gifted education.
