Oak Hill Middle School students in Mr. Wendell Anderson's 6th grade Social Studies class completed work on their performance task which was a European Data Disk. To construct the data disks, students selected three questions and three answers to be placed on the data disk. The data disk is constructed so that students can quiz other students on the topic being studied. Shown are Darren Thomas, Meghan Dietrich and Courtney Prosser with their completed data disks. Oak Hill Middle School 6th grade has a new academic recognition program called the B.U.G. Awards. The Bringing Up Grades (BUG) awards recognize students who are hard at work improving their Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies grades. Students will be recognized each 9 weeks for their hard work. Oak Hill Middle School recently held Make A Difference Day. Parents, students and staff helped beautify the school by painting, cleaning and landscaping. Shown are some of the wonderful volunteers who made the day such a successOak Hill Middle School students took part in a community wide canned food drive to benefit local food banks. The food drive was part of the Stuff the Truck campaign held by GCSU, the GIVE Center, Hands Across America and the Food Banks of Baldwin County. Mr. George Sargent with the St. Stephens Food Bank spoke to OHMS students about the need for local food banks and how they could help in this community effort. Math classrooms are now equipped with Promethean Boards and accessories and lap top computers.
