The ELC is so fortunate have Mrs. Jackie Nelson, a certified nutritionist, on site to share with children and families the importance of making healthy food choices and how these good choices help keep you physically fit. Each month children learn about a new food group and enjoy a healthy snack prepared with food items from that food group.

Preschool Literacy Night is a joint effort between all community preschool providers to educate parents about the importance of early literacy experiences. The ELC has hosted this event for the past 3 years. Each year we have been able to expand participants and activities.

Baldwin County Retired Educators give new clothes to our Head Start Children

Children and staff members enjoy dance classes led by a former parent, Capel Hadid. Mrs. Hadid comes weekly to share fun musical movement activities that support physical development in a fun and active way!

Children enjoyed participating in the Exercise Parade at the Early Learning Center. This event focused on encouraging children to get up and move to stay healthy and physically fit. This was one of many events held during the week designated as Take It Outside

In order to support children's physical development and encourage outside play, we applied for and were awarded a grant from Head Start Body Smart to install swings on our existing playground. We also were able to expand and add additional space for outdoor play.
