Parent Advisory Council


Objectives 

  • To increase parent involvement.
  • To implement a variety of effective forms of communication to reach all parents.
  • To create and maintain a friendly climate that welcomes all parents.
  • To work closely with parents who work outside the home, caregivers (grandparents, etc.), legal guardians, divorced parents and culturally diverse families by developing flexible meeting times, etc..
  • To assist all families in establishing a home environment that supports learning and provides ideas and programs for parents on how to help their child succeed in school.
  • To increase the number of parents that visits the schools.
  • To work with parents and other parent groups to encourage positive parental involvement in all areas of educating their children.
  • To recruit and train parent leaders to be involved in decision making, governance, and advocacy.
  • To work with the business community and other civic organizations to encourage their help and support in effectively educating students to become productive community members and leaders.
