KA - GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR SCHOOL-COMMUNITY RELATIONS

The Baldwin County Board of Education believes that the schools belong to the community and that participation of parents and citizens improves and enhances educational opportunities for students. This participation can be achieved only through effective two-way communications between the school and the community. The Board, therefore, believes that staff, students, parents, and the community are entitled to complete, accurate, and continual information about school policies, regulations, programs, operations, finances, goals, student performance, problems, and other information necessary to keep them totally informed. The Board also believes it is important for its members and the staff to know the community's attitudes and expectations; citizens participation imparts direction and meaning to the school program.

The Superintendent shall be responsible for implementing a public relations program for carrying out these beliefs. This program shall include using all feasible forms of communications including personal, print, and electronic media to provide information to staff, students, parents, and the community. In addition, this communications program will provide opportunities for the community to make known its desires and concerns for the improvement of education in the Baldwin County Schools. The Superintendent will periodically evaluate the community relations program and advise the Board of recommended modifications and improvements.
