Baldwin County School Nutrition Program is seeking an experienced full time bookkeeper.

Job Summary:

Baldwin High School-Assistant Principal

School Term 2012-2013

Qualifications:

Masters Degree or higher with Educational Leadership Certification.
At least 5 years of classroom experience/administrative experience.

Exceptional teaching/leadership ability that is documented in references from immediate supervisors.
Capability of building and sustaining good relationships with students, faculty, staff and community stakeholders in order to ensure student success.

A comprehensive understanding of College and Career Readiness Pathways.

Ability to manage a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policies, emergency management procedures, building supervision schedule and assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, district and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations.

Ability to disaggregate data and use to improve student performance.

Job Title: Head Start/Pre-K Teacher

Description of Duties

Under general supervision of the Director and Early Childhood Development and Education Manager and is responsible for the operation of a preschool classroom and maintenance of student assessment data. Adhering to the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework, GA Early Learning Standards, GA Pre-K Content Standards, and NAEYC criteria, the teacher will implement the preschool curriculum as designated and will utilize the resources provided to develop and implement plans for classroom instruction to meet the needs of each child.  The teacher will maintain a working knowledge of and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, GA DECAL BFTS Licensing Regulations, NAEYC accreditation criteria, GA Pre-K Operating Guidelines as they pertain to classroom operations and health and safety.  The teacher will facilitate an educational environment for assigned children designed to improve physical development and health, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, language and literacy, and cognition and general knowledge. 


The specific responsibilities of the position include but may not be limited to the following:

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work cooperatively as a team with the Education manager and other educational staff to plan, coordinate and implement the educational plan.
  2. Manage the day-to-day activities of all staff and volunteers assigned to the classroom.
  3. Regularly communicate with parents to seek their input for the education of their child as well as for the sharing of information or concerns.
  4. Structure room arrangement and daily schedule to maximize the use of instructional space and time.
  5. Design instructional activities that include age appropriate duration and content organization.
  6. Implement knowledge and skills gained from professional development in the classroom setting.
  7. Demonstrate a knowledge and use of a variety of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies to implement preschool curriculum.
  8. Implement the use of available technology into the instructional setting maximizing student use and learning.
  9. Demonstrate a competency to build for transfer of learning through establishing a creative initial focus, setting clear expectations for learning, and linking learning to relevant experiences of preschoolers.
  10. Creatively engage preschool students in active learning through imaginative techniques that stimulate learning.
  11. Monitor student progress and understanding during learning opportunities.
  12. Provide children with appropriate feedback during learning opportunities.
  13. Utilize effective questioning techniques that are structured to encourage higher level thinking skills.
  14. Manage a classroom of preschool students by facilitating appropriate pacing of activities, maintaining a supportive student-centered climate, and monitoring classroom behaviors.
  15. Collect evidence of child outcomes, analyze data, and utilize child assessment results to plan for effective group and individualized instruction.
  16. Maintain up-to-date portfolio of each child’s progress towards child outcomes.
  17. Collect evidence on each child to determine potential developmental or health concerns through the prescribed screening tools as well as through observation, making timely referrals as appropriate.
  18. Work in unison with and in collaboration with special education staff to ensure that each student with a disability receives the services and supports as identified by the IEP.
  19. Submit required lesson plans, reports, or other requested documents in a timely manner.
  20. Ensure that literacy and language opportunities are available throughout all daily activities.
  21. Conduct at least 2 parent conferences per assigned preschool student each year.
  22. Conduct at least 2 home visits per assigned Head Start student each year.
  23. Demonstrate competent written and verbal communication skills.
  24. Assist in supporting children with self-help needs including feeding and toileting.
  25. Diapering or cleaning up bodily fluids as necessary.
  26. Administer medication as prescribed (only) and document properly.
  27. Monitor all special dietary needs during meal times.
  28. Participate in family-style dining as required by standards.
  29. Supervising children during arrival and dismissal times including riding bus routes if needed.
  30. Interact in physical activities, at low-level tables, and on the floor with preschool children.
  31. Supervise year-round outdoor activities.
  32. Be physically able to walk extended distances while supervising a group of preschool children in transition from one place to another including field trips in the community.
  33. Be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  34. Maintain classroom supplies and equipment, and complete inventory reports.
  35. Maintain a neat, orderly and safe classroom environment, making timely reports to management with health and safety concerns.
  36. Have working knowledge of computers, handheld devices, and audio-visual equipment.
  37. Attend staff meetings, professional development, parent trainings, special committee meetings, and pod or department meetings as scheduled.
  38. Maintain First Aid and CPR/AED credentials.
  39. Maintain training hours required by all regulatory agencies.
  40. Directly participate in the annual program self-assessment.
  41. Assist with the collection of information for the annual community needs assessment report.
  42. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.


Qualification:

A bachelor degree in early childhood education.  A GA PSC Teacher’s Certificate in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
